The History & Current State of Foster Care:
There is a large & growing segment of children, and youth population who are neglected and very often enter the homeless to juvenile-delinquent-to-prison pipeline. These “at-risk” kids are falling through the cracks but in reality, have a gold potential that could be tapped into so they are turned around into constructive members of our society.
The good news! It does not need rocket science.
Given the right kind of support and reliance on alternative, supplemental mood, emotion regulation and calming tools/strategies which address mental health & well being and the creative innovations in technological software, as well as COLLABORATION with other like-minded service providers, what was once a utopian concept is now possible.
Pieces of the Puzzle:
In order to do this work authentically, effectively and impactfully and reach our goals, we will consider several pieces of the puzzle.
Using research and evidence-based alternate tools & strategies involving the Great outdoors, Exercise & Exploration, Nature-nurture hikes. Inward-looking tools using Breath-work, Mindfulness, Yoga,Tai-chi, Martial Arts, Music, Art, Dance & Drama therapy, and also Equine/animal & Dialectical Behavior therapy (DBT)
Investigating & using personalized and engaging ways of Educational pedagogy and Gamified learning.
A crucial piece of this puzzle entails creating a "village of support" and collaborating using already existing resources in our community and service organizations & groups.

Our vision for Robinhood Ranch began with a simple sketch, outlining our dreams for a place where children in foster care could find peace, joy, and support. Today, that sketch is coming to life as we transform it into a vibrant, nurturing sanctuary. From nature-nurture hikes and experiential gardening areas to music and art spaces, each element of the ranch is designed to empower and uplift the children we serve.
